Small Business Development Center
Ashland University's Small Business Development Center serves Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca and Wyandot counties. Services consist of quality, confidential in-depth counseling and training programs in order to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and improved management.
Community Services Program
Ashland University's Center for Community Service’s mission is to provide service opportunities in Ashland County and surrounding communities to encourage social responsibility, community involvement and thoughtful action. Projects through the Community Service Office include AU GIVS food drive, Adopt-a-Family, and Empty Bowls.
Ashland University’s student-led service organization, Community Care, allows student co-leaders to organize and facilitate events according to interest areas, including Hunger Team, Youth and Literacy Team, Environment Team, Habitat for Humanity Team, Adopt-a-Grandparent Team and Crisis Crew.
PROUD (Partners Reaching Out for Ultimate Development) is another service program, which allows Ashland University students to serve as tutors and mentors to at-risk children in the Ashland City Schools. Each PROUD tutor/mentor meets with his or her student for at least two hours per week for the entire school year.
The Center for Community Service also houses an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer who serves as the Service Learning Coordinator on campus. This full-time individual facilitates opportunities that allow students to connect their academic learning to service in surrounding communities.

Radio/TV Programming
Ashland University provides the community with an educational non-commercial television station as well as a 3,000-watt radio station. The television station, which is cablecast on WRDL TV2 to more than 15,000 viewers in the Ashland area, features a weekly news program as well as additional programs and covers community events. The radio station, WRDL-FM is a volunteer-run student radio station on FM 88.9. Participation is open to majors and non-majors. The station provides music, sports and news to the Ashland community and those within a 40-mile radius of the city.
Senior Citizen Program
Ashland University offers individuals who qualify for Golden Buckeye Card the opportunity to enroll in classes at $10 per credit hour. Seniors who take advantage will not receive credit for the class and admittance is based on space availability.
Library Resources
The Ashland University Library encourages community and student use of its resources. This nine-story, hexagon shaped building is open to area residents for educational, recreational and cultural use. Community borrowing privileges are extended to qualified area residents and in-house use of the library's 270,000 volume collection is open to all visitors. Internet users at home may view the library's web page and its online catalog at -- http://www.ashland.edu/library The Leo and Laura Numismatic Center located in the library is available during limited hours. The library serves as a depository for United States and Ohio government documents.
