Dear friends and colleagues,
It’s time for a new greeting on our web site. As I write, the final version of our self study, as well as the collateral materials specified in the Handbook of Accreditation are now completed. You may see our finished product posted on this site. The document posted there is the culmination of much good work by many generous and talented people. Most notably and recently, we owe a debt of gratitude to those who labored on the writing committee, especially Gary Levine, and the stalwart volunteers on the document formatting and production committee, especially Roger Beckett and Mike Hupfer. The fruits of their labors are evident in the documents we are now pleased to present to the Higher Learning Commission Examining Team. I think everyone will agree that our document amplifies and burnishes the good work and contributions of everyone who has contributed to this project over the last year. Everyone who has taken part in this process can feel confident that we are forwarding a strong and positive account of Ashland University’s progress and accomplishments over these last ten years. Please send any comments you may have to nca@ashland.edu. We look forward to the Examining Team’s visit in February.
The visit, you recall, will take place February 11-13, 2008. We are now shifting our focus to prepare for the team’s arrival. The big piece that remains is organizing the Resource Room for our visitors, and there are still some materials we need to collect. For now, though, all who have made this work their care and concern can enter the holiday season “with the gratifying feeling that our duty has been done.” (W. S. Gilbert)
