Professor
Weaver teaches courses in Romantic and Victorian British literature,
Greek literature, 19th century Russian Novel (War and Peace
and The Brothers Karamazov), Nietzsche ("Nietzsche and the
Problem of Values" consists of a major work like Zarathustra, a
Shakespeare play and a major work of fiction), Heidegger ("Heidegger
and Question of Interpretation" covers portions of Being and
Time , The Origin of the Work of Art, and On the Way
to Language plus shorter works of literature), and he offers
a rotating set of major writers seminars on Dostoevsky, Shakespeare,
Dickens, and Austen.
Professor Weaver published Questioning Keats: An Introduction to Applied Hermeneutics with Peter Lang Press in 2006. He is currently working on a book provisionally entitled Literature and Ethics: Billy Budd, Peter Winch, and the Universalizability of Ethics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
