The Philosophy Department helps students learn to analyze, to think creatively, expanding their conceptual horizons, and to critically examine their beliefs. It provides a forum for individual and shared reflection on the meaning, purpose and value of human existance and helps students integrate their knowledge of other fields and engage in creative interdisciplinary thinking. The department prepares students for continued study in philosophy through acquaintance with the major Eastern and Western philosophers. Philosophy students explore the relationship between philosophical inquiry and the Judeo-Christian tradition.
