Ashland University - Psychology Department

Ashland University Psychology Department

Brain

The department strives to acquaint the student with the basic content areas of the science of psychology. Students understand and use scientific methodology and thought and have the ability to apply ethically their knowledge outside of the classroom. Psychology students become proficient in fundamental intellectual and social skills that are essential for a career in psychology and required for achievement in the world of work. The department assists those students with professional aspirations in pursuing graduate education and provides a broad psychology background for those with other career plans.

What do our graduates say about the Ashland University psychology program?

"What I valued most from my experience with the Ashland Psychology Department was the helpfullness and availability of the faculty.  The professors had an open door policy, and each took a sincere interest in the success of their students . From giving advise to providing personalized reccommendations, the faculty guided me through each step

of the grad school process and helped to prepare me for life after

graduation."  Alissa Banyasz (2008 Ashland University graduate)

"The academic and research experience I gained from the Ashland University psychology department was very beneficial in preparing me for the demands of graduate school.  The development of a good work ethic is crucial and I feel I was richly assisted with that development through the ‘accent on the individual’ the Ashland University psychology department was able to provide." Carrie Wilson (2004 Ashland University graduate)
