All the members of the faculty in the religion department at Ashland University have a deep commitment to the religious education and development of undergraduate students. They understand that education is more than acquiring facts. It is learning to integrate those facts and ideas into one's own intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth.
Since education is not confined to the classroom, their interaction with students is not either. You will often find the religion faculty worshipping with students, talking with students in their offices, eating with students, and attending school functions in support of their students.
In addition to being accomplished scholars, all three professors on the religion faculty are deeply involved in ministry (two are ordained clergy).
Whether you take one class in religion as part of your general education requirement or you take many classes in preparation for seminary or graduate work, the religion faculty understands that each student has particular questions and contributions to make. They are dedicated to creating a supportive environment for the exploration of questions of profound significance.
