1. Catalog description:
Students will investigate and practice a variety of communication techniques in face-to-face situations as they arise in the relationship between supervisors and their subordinates. Orientation will be toward communication objectives and methods needed to effectively manage a productive enterprise or project.

2. Perception and Communication
Develop and improve the competencies of specialized knowledge, communication skills, use of socialized power, concern for relationships.
Upon successfully completing the course, the student should be able to demonstrate the following course objectives:
1. Identify and explain the various components of the communication process.
2. Understand and explain the process of perception and strategies to improve its accuracy during interpersonal communication.
3. Identify, analyze, and develop appropriate strategies for effectively communicating feeling and thoughts in a variety of settings.
4. Describe and demonstrate effective, active listening.
5. Identify and analyze the dimensions of nonverbal communication.
6. Understand the complexities of intercultural communication.
7. Develop appropriate strategies for dealing with interpersonal conflict.
4. Student Assessment criteria:
1. Attendance is expected.
2. Participation is essential.
3. Grading will be based on tests, projects, presentations, participation, assignments.
