1. Catalog description:
Teaches the fundamentals of portfolio management through integration of theory and practice.  Students, as a class, manage an actual investment portfolio of significant worth under the supervision of the instructor.

2. Course content:
 Topics to be covered include:

            * analytical techniques and tools for construction, management, and protection of Investment

   Portfolios

* portfolio theory

* investment theory

* diversification theory

* efficient market theory

* pure expectations hypothesis

* transaction cost theory

* agency theory

3. Student learning objectives:
The objective of the course is to have students become competent in portfolio construction, management, and portfolio protection, working with the Eagle Investment Group portfolio and individual investment portfolios, tracking performance and reporting results.

4. Student assessment criteria:
The following assignments are required elements of the class and they are equally weighted: group projects, individual project, and Internet exercises. Students are assigned letter grades in line with the university policy.
