1. Catalog description:
A course devoted to various topics related to current issues in finance.  May be repeated once for different topics with approval of finance faculty.

2. Course content:
 The topics to be covered will depend on the special topic being offered at the time.

 3. Student learning objectives:
1.   Examine topics in discipline not covered in other courses in major.

2.   Increase students= expertise in topical area through readings of historical and/or contemporary texts

      and articles.

3.   Provide students with both practical and theoretical knowledge in a specific topical area of the

      discipline.

4.   Increase students= skills and business competencies.

5.   In addition, each course offering will have its own stated objectives. The courses will be designed to

      offer state of the art topics in line with the latest market trends and issues to offer finance students

      current knowledge that cannot be justifiably covered elsewhere in the program.

4. Student assessment criteria:
 Student competencies will be assessed in an appropriate manner: Communication skills - by means of oral or written reports; Teamwork - by means of involvement in group projects; Leadership - by active involvement in class discussions and projects; Critical thinking - through essay or problem-solving questions and projects.  Other addressed competencies will be addressed as appropriate.
