Five AU students, David Dauch, Kristen Striker, Katie Moore, Brian Mozena, and John Fox' attended Immersion Week for the Entrepreneur Education
Consortium at Cleveland State University last week. They were among 35
students from the seven universities that attended the event. They heard
several entrepreneur give talks about being an entrepreneur, received
training from the various university professors, and participated in joint
exercises with the college students from the other universities. The week
ended with Ashland students competing against the teams from the other
six universities. It was a stiff competition over various business concepts with the
judges stating that it was a difficult decision to select a winner from all of the
fine projects that were submitted with only five days development. The Case Western
Reserve team won the competition.
The five Ashland University students developed a web based provider service which many of the judges felt was a very good project. The students are bringing this project back to AU to continue with a business plan and to seek financing to make this concept a reality.
July 9-13, 2007
Ten area high school students spent a week at the Dauch College of Business and Economics participating in the Morgan Center's third Young Entrepreneurs @ Ashland Camp. The students developed products, made marketing plans for those products, helped to solve real business problems, and honed their business and leadership skills.
