Master of Education
Early Childhood Education
This non-licensure program is designed for graduate students who want to
learn more about children in pre-kindergarten through grade 3. It is
particularly helpful to practicing teachers holding grade 1-8 teaching
certificates who find themselves working with younger children. Students
complete capstone experiences that focus on early childhood education topics.

Master of Education
Early Childhood Intervention Specialist
This non-licensure program is designed for graduate students who want to
learn more about children in pre-kindergarten through grade 3 who have
special needs. Students enrolled in this program are not expected to have
an ECIS background and complete capstone experiences
that focus on early childhood intervention topics.
Licensure-Only
Early Childhood Intervention Specialist
This program is designed for licensed teachers who want an
additional license working with young children in pre-kindergarten through grade 3 who have special needs. In addition to successfully completing appropriate coursework, students must pass the Praxis II Special Education: Knowledge-Based Core Principles (Test 20351) test. (Note: The Special Education exam has been designed for individuals
who are preparing to teach children in preschool through grade 12.)
While courses in this program will apply to a Master of Education
in ECIS, additional courses are needed to earn the degree.
Endorsement
Prekindergarten Special Needs
This program is designed for licensed teachers who want an additional
endorsement to work with preschool children who have special needs.
