The programs are complemented by a sport science center housing six carpeted, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with video and other media hookups. The building opened on March 13, 2006. The center houses a triple gymnasium, racquetball and handball courts, an athletic training facility, a natatorium, and an adjoining fitness center and human performance laboratory.

The department boasts a field house that contains an indoor track and indoor tennis courts. Ashland University also uses community resources such as bowling alleys, YMCA facilities, hospitals, state lakes and parks.
