Coaching

To meet the increasing demand for positive and ethical professionals to lead and instruct individual and team sport programs. Coaching involves multiple competencies, including leadership, management, psychology, and physiology. Specifically, the coaching minor prepares students through instruction on philosophy development, contemporary issues, exercise physiology, and sport-specific strategy, with the goal of creating competent and successful coaches for athletes of all levels. The coaching minor is an excellent option for future educators, as most prep and youth coaching positions are granted to teachers, as well as any students who wish to acquire a leadership role in sport instruction.
