Your completed Honors application will be reviewed by the Honors Director after you have been accepted to Ashland University. There is no application deadline and decisions for admission to the Honors Program are made on a rolling basis. Current high school students wishing to apply for an Honors Program Scholarship may review the selection criteria and application at Honors Program Scholarships.
In addition to this application, you must complete an essay to be considered for the Honors Program.
Write an essay of at most 500 words (approximately two double-spaced pages) on one of the following topics:
- Part of the mission of Ashland University's Honors Program is to offer academically talented undergraduate students "special projects and courses that challenge the mind." Describe a project or course from your high school experience that you believe exemplifies this ideal.
- Describe a book or movie that has significantly influenced your life.
- If you were given the power to create one law in the United States, what law would you create?
