In my Composition II course I learned to think about and analyze characters in a whole new way. I began to look for and identify a character's motives and perceptions to help me better understand the root of his or her behaviors towards others. This doesn't seem to be a very profound realization now, but it was a dramatic shift in the way I approached texts at the time. It's a skill I used throughout my time at Ashland as an English major and one that I still use now in the social services field. - Class of 2011
