The Ashland International Business Initiative (AIBI) is a partnership formed between Ashland University and Ashland Economic Development.

The AIBI is designed to create a program in the Ashland area to give local companies the necessary support to develop and/or enhance their export sales initiatives. Increased sales for local companies will lead to an increase in local jobs.

AIBI will include a series of quarterly seminars designed to present local businesses with export opportunities. The program is an attempt to stimulate the local economy by introducing local businesses to international sales opportunities they may not be aware of otherwise.

Other aspects of the AIBI will involve providing local businesses with training seminars on exporting documentation, shipping, clolections, marketing and other aspects of international sales. The program plans to use Ashland University interns to complete studies of developing markets abroad and to assist local companies with their international business plans. To help achieve this, the Strategic Positioning Consultancy (SPC) has been established.
