Created in 2010, the Founders School of Continuing Education brings together outreach programs, continuing education (CEU’s), professional development, economic education, post-secondary options and adults studies under the direction of Dean Dwight McElfresh.
Ashland University has been recognized statewide for its leadership in providing high quality professional development opportunities for educators and other professionals that emphasize job embedded training and 21st Century skills. Our programs for financial literacy and economic education are considered the model programs for teachers and students through the state. As the home of the Journal of Correctional Education, our outreach programs in the correctional institutions in the region are some of the most innovative in the country. The Division of Adult Studies provides opportunities for non-traditional students in evening or web-based classes that meet the needs of working adults. The Founders School truly places the “accent on the individual” in its ability to work collaboratively with adult learners and the University community to provide programs and services that uniquely meet the needs of the work place.
