Coach Vicki Wirick

Vicki Wirick is the head coach of the AU Cheerleaders, which consists of a varsity squad of 16 members and a JV squad of 8 members. Vicki is also the Dance Team Advisor at AU. She became the cheerleading coach in the Fall of 2000. When she first took over as head coach, the squad consisted of only 8 girls and 2 guys. Since taking over, the cheerleading program has evolved not only in numbers but in skills. Many hours of practice, discipline, traveling out of state to learn new material on a yearly basis has turned this program completely around. In addition, Vicki helps with recruitment as she works fulltime in the Admission Office. She is able to speak with all new and incoming freshmen and transfer students each and every year from around the State of Ohio as well as other states. Vicki has two children, both graduates of Ashland University, and is married to Dave Wirick of Lexington, Ohio.
