AU Women’s Golf Fifth at Mercyhurst

The Ashland University women’s golf team completed a swing through Erie, PA, on Tuesday (Oct. 8) by finishing fifth out of six teams at the Mercyhurst Invitational, held at Lake View Country Club.

Findlay shot 345 to earn the team championship. Gannon (361) was the runnerup and Northwood (362) settled into third place. Ashland shot 406.

Sophomore Amy Sims led the Eagles by shooting 97. Sophomore Gina Carpenter and freshman Nicole Cespedes both shot 98.

K. Putnam of Findlay was the medalist, shooting 82.

Earlier in the week the Eagles competed at the Gannon Invitational.
