AU Baseball Stops Stonehill, 18-12

Thanks to the powerful Ashland University offense, Stonehill was stopped stone cold.

The Ashland University baseball team pounded Stonehill pitching for 21 hits and 18 runs Friday night (Mar. 14) in an 18-12 win over the New England school. The victory ups AU’s record to 9-4. Ashland was to play twice on Saturday – against UMASS-Lowell and Lynn.

Senior infielder Tim Hinchliffe and sophomore infielder Jason Fleming were both 3-for-4. Hinchliffe had three RBI and Fleming drove in a pair of runs. Junior catcher Josh Gaub was 2-for-4 with a double and senior infielder Chris Skibinski was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI. Junior Brandon Cornell had a triple and four RBI.
