Ashland University to Host Summer Baseball Camp

The Ashland University baseball program will be hosting its annual summer baseball camp from June 10 – 12, 2003.

The camp will be held for players ages 7-18/grades 2-12, beginning at 10 a.m., with sessions ending at 3 p.m. Camp will be held at Donges Field located at the Sarver Athletic Complex off Katherine Avenue.

Camp fee will be $90 – which includes accident insurance provided by the camp. There are no refunds on deposits on tuition, only refunds toward next year’s camp. Registration is by mail or phone and there are limited spaces available.

Players will need to bring their glove or mitt, baseball shoes, hat, bat, lunch and drink. Lunch will not be included. All campers receive a camp T-shirt.

The camp will be under the direction of AU head coach John Schaly and assistant coach Bart Marchetti.

Schaly has led AU to a pair of GLIAC championships, two North Central region crowns and two trips to the NCAA Division II Championships in Montgomery, AL. His teams have the four highest single-season win totals in school history, including a school record 48 wins in 2002. He has been cited as the GLIAC coach of the year and North Central coach of the year twice.
