The Ashland University womens
basketball program will sponsor a pair of summer camps for young
players. A minicamp for players in grades 9-12 is scheduled for
June 29-July 1. A day camp for players in grades 4-8 will be held
July 7-10.
Both camps will be directed by AU head womens
basketball coach Sue Ramsey and her staff.
The minicamp package includes work on
basketball fundamentals, 1-on-1, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, plus a
1:8 coach-to-camper ratio. Resident campers will stay in the
university residence halls and receive six meals at AUs
on-campus dining hall. Commuters will receive four meals. All
campers will receive a basketball. Awards and player evaluations
will also be presented.
Cost for resident campers is $175. Cost for
commuters is $150. A deposit of $100 is due with each application.
The day camp features instruction on basketball
fundamentals. There will be 1-on-1, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. The
coach-to-camper ratio will be 1:8. All campers will receive a
basketball. There will be awards and player evaluations. The camp
begins each day with players in grades 7-8 working from 9
a.m.-noon. Players in grades 4-6 will be in camp from 1-4 p.m.
Cost for the day camp is $100 per camper. A $50
deposit is due with each application.
