AU Men’s Golf 10th at Bay Valley
September 28, 2003

Prior to the start of this men’s golf season, first-year Ashland University head coach Ben Cavey warned that the Eagles could experience some ups and downs. At this point in the season, it looks as if Cavey’s crystal ball is crystal clear.

The Eagles finished 10th out of 10 teams at the Bay Valley Invitational, hosted by Saginaw Valley State on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 26-27). AU’s team score was 638. First place went to Ferris State (596).

The Bulldogs’ Pat Simmer was the medalist, shooting even par, 144. Gannon’s Dave Patronik was a stroke behind. Kyle Swigart had the Eagles’ best score, finishing in a tie for 26th at 156.
