AU Men’s Golf Finishes 10th at GLIAC Championships

In the first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championship of the 2004-05 year, the men’s golf tournament, it was Ferris State that took first place, outdistancing Findlay by 11 strokes over three rounds of play (Oct. 9-10).

Ashland, under the direction of first-year head coach Darrin Jones, placed 10th out of 12 schools with a total stroke count of 963 (+99). The Eagles’ top individual performance at the Black Berry Patch Golf Course in Coldwater, MI came from junior Adam Hlivko. Hlivko’s total of 233 (+17) placed him in a three-way tie for 13th in the field of 60 golfers. Freshman Jon Spelman was next for AU, finishing 28th at 242 (+26). Wayne State’s Ryan Johnson was the individual champion, shooting 221 (+5).

This tournament wrapped up AU’s fall season.
