AU Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Northwood

In a field consisting solely of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men’s golf teams, Ashland finished eighth out of nine schools at Friday’s (Sept. 30) Northwood Invitational.

The Eagles finished with a 616 in the two-round tournament. Matt Gasser and Chris Robertson were the top AU golfers. Both carded 154s to tie for 20th place in the individual standings.

Northwood won its own invitational with a 592, outdistancing Grand Valley State by two shots. Grand Valley’s Steve Larson was the medalist, at 141.

The Eagles will be in action at the Saginaw Valley State Invitational beginning Saturday (Oct. 1).
