Matt Gasser, consistently the top
performer for the Ashland University mens golf team during
the fall season, enjoyed his best effort yet Saturday (Oct. 1) at
the Bay Valley Intercollegiate Invitational in Midland, MI. Gasser
finished with a 68 (-3), tying Saginaw Valley States Adam
Miller for the medalist honor.
Millers score lifted the host Cardinals
to the team title at 287 (+3). The Eagles ended up eighth out of
nine teams with a 303 (+19). Jon Spelmans 73 (+2)
aided the Ashland team effort. Spelman tied for 11th overall.
Ashlands fall season will draw to a close
Oct. 10-11 with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (GLIAC) Championship Tournament, which will be held at
the Lakeview Country Club in Northeast, PA. The Eagles will aim to
improve on their 10th place finish from 2004. |
