The Ashland University men's basketball squad has been one of the surprise teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) this season. One of the players who has made this successful season possible is senior center Justin Brown (Columbus, OH/West Liberty State). He was honored with inclusion on both the first team All-GLIAC South Division roster and the GLIAC South Division All-Defensive Team.

Brown is the second-leading rebounder (9.8 rpg.) in the conference and also ranks second in field goal percentage (.604). His rebounding figure is the ninth-best mark in the nation and he is 16th nationally in field goal percentage. His 16.6 ppg., put him fifth in the GLIAC in that category. Brown has pulled down 656 boards during his three years at AU, a figure that ranks second in school history. The senior is a repeat selection on the all-defensive team from a season ago and improves from his second team All-GLIAC South Division honor from 2004-05.

Ashland, 19-9 overall, will meet host Grand Valley State at 8 p.m. on Friday (March 3) in the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament. A victory would give the Eagles their first 20-win season since 1999-2000 and would propel the team into the conference title game for the first time.
