Eagles Men Hold First-Round Lead at AU Golf Invite

The Ashland University men’s golf team finished the first day of the AU Invitational sitting in first place in eight-team field. The event is being staged at the Country Club of Ashland.

AU ended the first day with a team score of 298. Ferris State (306) was second and Wayne State (311) owned third place.

AU’s Joe D’Andrea had the individual lead. He shot 72. Close behind him was teammate Matt Gasser (73). Gannon’s Dave Patronik and Derek Radley of Ferris State shared third place. Each shot 74.

The tournament will conclude on Monday.
