The 2006 Ashland University baseball
camp, directed by AU head coach John Schaly and his staff,
will be held June 13-15 at AUs remodeled Donges Field
Complex. The camp will run each day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and is
open to players ages 7-18/grades 2-12.
The Donges Field complex includes batting
practice tunnels, soft toss areas, pitching machines, batting
practice tees, five pitching mounds and dugouts. The camp will
emphasize the fundamentals of all baseball skills. Players will
use the same drills that are utilized by AU baseball players.
There will be videotape analysis of each camper and each camper
will have his velocity tested on a radar gun. There will also be
hitting and throwing competitions. Campers will be grouped
according to age and ability.
Each player will receive a camp t-shirt. Lunch
is not provided. Players should bring glove or mitt, baseball
shoes, hat, bat, lunch and drink. Accident insurance is provided
by the camp and is included in the $95 camp tuition fee.
