Honors students in Cleveland to see Two students get their "game on" for laser tag!
Shakespeare's play Measure for Measure
The Honors Society is a student organization made up of students in the Academic Honors Program. Officers are elected each academic year.
The
Society hosts social events and service projects on the AU campus as well as in the larger Ashland community.
The '07-'08 academic year was a busy one! In August, a game night was held to welcome new and returning
Honors students to campus. October was a busy month with a field trip to the Cleveland Playhouse
to see a Shakespeare play, a canned
food drive was held to benefit Ashland Pump House
Ministry, and Dr. Swanson, Honors Director, introduced disc golf
to a number of interested students. Honors students gathered in December to bake cookies as a study break before final exams. Extra cookies were delivered to Brethren Care Village, a local senior residence. In the spring, Honors students headed to Wooster for a competitive game of laser tag versus the Ashbrook
Scholars and a special fund raiser for an Afghani children's charity, Help The Afghan Children, was held at the Honors sponsored Ashland movie premiere of The Kite Runner. The Society held officer elections and the officers for the upcoming '08-'09 academic year are below. Congratulations to all of our new officers and a big thank you to the outgoing officers!
Please feel free to contact any of the Honors officers if you have any ideas or suggestions for future events or activities.
