Sorority Life Offers You
Scholarship
The primary reason for attending a college or university is to earn a degree. For this reason, promoting high academic standards is the primary focus of all Greek chapters. The reason behind the academic accomplishments of Greek women can be best substantiated by the high Greek and chapter standard. Each chapter promotes and recognizes academic and excellence by implementing scholarship programs and incentives.
Philanthropy
Sororities use philanthropic projects to give back to the surrounding community. Each chapter devotes time and effort to make an impact on others both locally and nationally. Sororities participate in numerous community service projects to benefit local and national chapters. These efforts include fund raising for the Cardiac Care, Children's Miracle Network, Gallaudet University for the Speech and Hearing-Impaired, and the Ronald McDonald House. Last year, sororities completed 7,800 hours of service to the local community and national organizations.
Leadership
Sororities encourage and foster leadership growth and responsibility. The opportunities available to Greek members promote strong leadership skills. Chapters also encourage their members to become involved in the campus community as well. Many student leaders of the organizations at Ashland University are Greek. Sororities are devoted to providing dynamic leadership seminars, which allow members to discover and refine their leadership skills.
Sisterhood
Life long friendships and memories are created through sorority relations. Social activities include social events, date parties, formals, and other Greek programs. Women join sororities because they want to create a sense of belonging and opportunities for involvement, but they also provide honest friendship that last a lifetime.
