The Newman Community of Ashland University is a welcoming faith group rooted in the Catholic tradition. Through the sacraments, service, and a social community of believers, we strive to foster the spiritual growth of all students, faculty, and staff, as well as those in and around the Ashland University community. It is our vision that our vibrancy is enhanced and strengthened by each individual's unique gifts and involvement.

Fr. Vince Hawk was Ordained for service to the Diocese of Cleveland in May of 2002. He served as Parochial Vicar of St. Brendan Parish in North Olmsted Ohio, from June of 2002, until January 2006. He became the Catholic Campus Minister for the Newman community at Ashland University and the Pastor of St. Peter, Loudonville on February 1, 2006.

Nate Addington is a graduate of Ashland University and is currently working on a Master of Arts in Theology at Lourdes College in Sylvania. Nate is a native of Archbold, Ohio and returned to Ashland this past January with his wife, Rachel, after serving as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church since February of 2009.

Jordan Trejo is a Junior at Ashland University majoring in Social Work. A native of Defiance, Ohio, Jordan has served in his role with the Newman Community on Campus since 2009.

About Newman Nights
We gather in lower chapel for fellowship and weekly discussion topics that pertains to our Catholic faith. Discussions are open to all and all are welcome. Some discussions are led by students and we also have special speakers throughout the school year. Topics range from Sacraments, prayer styles, Catholic Mythbusters, leadership, sharing stories, community service and social events.
