Dr. Dick Stoffer
Dr. Richard L. Stoffer, professor of biology, joined the Ashland University faculty in 1980. He is a member of the Environmental Science Program and the Ashland University Preserve Manager. He teaches courses including general zoology, ecology, ecology of the Great Smoky Mountains, field zoology, ethology and forensic science. His research interests included Ohio prairies and prairie reconstruction, systematics of the Diptera family Chironomidae and the recovery of the American chestnut. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in zoology from Ohio State University and his B.S. in biology from Ashland University.
