Bio

Timothy S. McCarty, professional instructor of digital media production in journalism and digital media, joined the Ashland University faculty in 2009. His areas of expertise include single and multiple camera production, field and studio lighting, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Broadcast Graphic Design and documentary production. He works as the TV advisor and executive producer for the student-powered television operation on AUTV-20. In 2011, McCarty received an Emmy Nomination from the Great Lake Chapter of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his work directing Hammer on Steel: The Concert for Western Reserve PBS 45-49. In 2008, he received his third national Emmy award for work on the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing, People's Republic of China for NBC Sports. A Praxis certified teacher and 25-year production veteran, McCarty earned his M.Ed. in education and his B.A. in telecommunication from Kent State University.
