ART SATURDAYS Fall 2011
Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery and Art Club have established “Art Saturdays,” an educational and creative experience for children 7 to 15 years old. “Art Saturdays” will be offering classes on the following dates – September 10, October 15 and November 19, in the Room 346 located in the Center for the Arts on the Ashland University campus. PLEASE NOTICE CHANGE IN THE SESSION TIMES FOR ART SATURDAYS.

What should a woman do if her husband is unfaithful and yet her church says not to use condoms and not to get a divorce?

The Ohio All Media Juried Exhibition, featuring paintings, mixed media art, prints, photographs, ceramics, sculpture and assemblage art, opens on Sunday June 26th in the Coburn Gallery at Ashland University. This exhibition was created as a showcase for Ohio artists working in any media, traditional or experimental.
The 10th annual exhibition includes 47 artworks from 38 local and regional Ohio artists.

CALL FOR ENTRIES.....DEADLINE EXTENDED until May 13th ( NOT a postmark date-all entries should arrive by this date) The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University announces a regional juried exhibition entitled Ohio All Media, a juried exhibition created as a showcase for Ohio artists working in any media, traditional or experimental. Juror: JohnW. Carlson. $800.00 in AWARDS. Open to artists at least 18 years of age residing in Ohio. A maximum of three entries for $20.00 are allowed per artist.

The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University announces a regional juried exhibition entitled Ohio All Media, a juried exhibition created as a showcase for Ohio artists working in any media, traditional or experimental. $800.00 in AWARDS. Open to artists at least 18 years of age residing in Ohio. A maximum of three entries for $20.00 are allowed per artist. Entries must be original works in any media (2-D or 3-D), completed within the last two years. Work previously exhibited at the Coburn Gallery is not eligible. Artists are responsible for shipping/delivery costs to/from the gallery.

Everyone is welcome to attend the President's Convocation scheduled for September 11 at 4:00 p.m. in the Jack & Deb Miller Chapel on the Ashland University campus. 

Everyone is invited to meet in the prayer room in the Jack & Deb Miller Chapel on Monday evenings at 9:00 p.m. and also on Thursday at 7:30 to join in prayer. Sparks Prayer Ministry takes this time to pray for the campus, community, family, roommates, the state and the nation.

Elizabeth Slade, Department of Music, Adjunct Faculty, Musicianship

Elizabeth Slade holds a B.A. in Music and French from the University of Virginia and an M.Ed. from Harvard University where she studied choral conducting with Constance Defotis and served as Choral Administrator for the Harvard Choirs under the direction of Jameson Marvin. During her time at Harvard, Slade was a member of the professional Choir of the Church of the Advent in Boston and a soprano soloist in and around the Boston area.
