3/26/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University Department of Theatre's “Season of Comedy from Stage and Screen” concludes with “A Life in the Theatre” by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet.
The comedy first appeared off-Broadway in 1977 with revivals in 2006 and most recently in 2010 co-starring Patrick Stewart and T. R. Knight, and was made into a television movie in 1993 with Jack Lemmon and Matthew Broderick.

Dr. Scott Garlock, associate professor of music, will be assisted by pianists Emily Garlock and Rock Wehrmann, percussionists Mell Csicsila and Aaron Hill, bassist Tim Powell, and Thomas Reed on clarinet and saxophone. The program begins with Robert Sibbing's Homage to Anaîs Nin followed by Garlock's arrangement of Domenico Dragonetti's Andante and Rondo for Kontra Bass, then Thomas Zugger's Three Dances including movements of Jazz Waltz, Slow Dance and Irish Jig.
3/22/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – The award winners have been announced for Ashland University’s 2013 Juried Student Art Exhibition that will run through April 5 in the University’s Coburn Gallery.
The outside juror for the exhibition was George T. Gregory, instructor at The Ohio State University in Columbus, and he was responsible for selecting the exhibition consisting of 125 artworks from among a competitive field of 178 student entries and also designating the award recipients.
3/21/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University's Dr. Scott Garlock, associate professor of music, director of jazz studies and instructor of the low brass studio, will present two concerts which showcase his musicianship on the trombone.
The Ashland University women's basketball team was crowned the Division II national champions Friday night after defeating Dowling 71 to 56 in San Antonio, Texas. The Eagles led the entire game pulling out to double digit leads most of the way. The Eagles, who entered the tournament ranked second in the nation, ended the season with a 37-1 record and got revenge for a loss in the chamionship game last year. The Eagles were led by senior Kari Daugherty who had 26 points and 12 rebounds.
