Graduate Studies in
Education
Students working toward the Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree and/or
licensure will be able to complete all requirements at the Cleveland
Center or in combination with one of the graduate education cohorts.
Courses can be taken during the fall and spring in the late afternoon
and evening. Daytime classes are available throughout the summer.
- Curriculum and Instruction: Classroom Instruction
This degree is for teachers in elementary and secondary schools who desire special work in the academic content disciplines and the new technologies that support instruction, as well as the most current pedagogy pertaining to improving the quality of instruction and increasing pupil achievement.

- Curriculum and Instruction: Teacher Leader
This degree has been designed to enhance an educator's skills in creating sustainable curricular and instructional change at the grade, subject matter specialty, and/or building levels. The program will include all required courses in Curriculum and Instruction: Classroom teacher specialty and appropriate educational administration courses for the electives, as well as a modified internship experience as an option to the traditional practicum.

- Educational Administration
Courses leading to the Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree and/or licensure in School Administration are offered for elementary, middle grades and secondary levels. Courses for building principals, central office administrators, treasurers and superintendents are available. The M.Ed requires 36 semester hours, while the M.Ed plus licensure requires 45 hours.

Superintendency Licensure Cohort Program (PDF)
To be eligible to receive the superintendent’s license, the applicant must have worked for three (3) years as a school administrator under a principal or administrative specialist license/certificate.
