SCIENCE CURRICULUM SUPPORT FOR THE
ASHLAND CITY SCHOOLS
The Telego Center for Educational Improvement at Ashland University announces a Science Curriculum Support Program in cooperation with the Ashland City Schools in grades K-12 during the 2007-2008 school year. The project includes the following areas that will be reviewed by Ashland University professors in collaboration with district teachers. The focus areas are:
* to provide an external evaluation of the Ashland City School's Science
curriculum in grades K-8 to determine alignment with state curricular
requirements in grades 9-12.
* to conduct focus groups and interviews with teachers and
administrators.
* to provide a written report of the evaluation of the external results.
* to assist the district with a plan for professional development for
teachers to prepare students for rigorous high school science courses
by grade 9.
* to provide up to fifty hours on consultation of service to the Ashland
City Schools and coordinate ten additional hours of consultation with
a content specialist as needed.

CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT
PREVENTION TRAINING

The Telego Center for Educational Improvement and The Dear Teacher Project offer in-service child abuse prevention training for all school employees that will fulfill the Ohio state mandate as stated in the Ohio Revised Code:3319.073. This training will comprehensively cover awareness, knowledge, observation, documentation and reporting of suspicions or allegations of child abuse and neglect.
