The purpose of the Interfraternity Council is:
● To ensure the proper self-governance of the individual fraternity organizations
● To establish rules and regulations concerning the fraternity system
● To ensure just and fair enforcement and judgments of infractions of all rules and regulations of the IFC, Ashland University, and the North-American Interfraternity Conference
● To define the criteria of a "social fraternity" at Ashland University and to solely recognize said organizations
● To promote high scholastic, social, philanthropic, and cultural environments for the benefit of the fraternity system and its members
● To uphold the traditions and principles of Ashland University and its fraternity system
