Changing careers? Are you currently teaching, but would like to expand your license to teach children who have special needs? Ashland University provides several post-baccalaureate teacher licensure programs that can fit your needs. All are approved by the Ohio Board of Regents.
Bachelor's Plus Initial Teacher Licensure Program for Individuals with a Bachelor's Degree
If you have a bachelor degree from an accredited university that did not lead to a teaching license, you will want to check out our Bachelor's Plus initial teacher licensure program. This program leads to an initial teacher license in early childhood (Pre-K-grade 3), middle grades (4-9), intervention specialist (special education) in grades K-12 and adolescent/young adult (secondary) in a number of content areas, foreign language and visual arts.
Intervention Specialist Licenses for Individuals with a Current Teaching License or Certificate
If you have an initial teacher license and want to work with children who have mild, moderate or intensive needs, Ashland University provides second licensure programs in intervention specialist mild-moderate and intervention specialist moderate-intensive needs. Many of the credit hours in these two programs can lead to a master's degree.
