Dr. Carl Walley joined the faculty of Ashland University in 1989.  He has earned degrees at Ashland College (1968), The University of Vermont (1974) and Kent State University (1989).  He teaches graduate courses related to curriculum theory and undergraduate classes on educational psychology and middle grades education.  Before coming to Ashland University he was an elementary grades teacher, school principal, consultant for gifted education, and supervisor of elementary programs.  He is author of two books, and numerous articles related to literacy and comparative education.
