College of Education
Our College of Education is one of the largest among independent and state institutions in Ohio. We offer extensive undergraduate specializations as well as the individual attention from caring faculty that is a hallmark of an Ashland University education. When you graduate from Ashland’s College of Education, you’ll hold a degree that is sought-after by public and private school systems throughout the state. The College offers one of the largest Master of Education programs in Ohio as well as the Doctor of Education program.
A Message from Dr. James Van Keuren, Dean of the College of Education
The Dwight Schar College of Education has a proud history of academic accomplishments in both our undergraduate and graduate programs, and continues to prepare our candidates to meet the changing demands in today’s schools.
We have been accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for more than 35 years. The faculty members in the College provide our students with the best possible instructional delivery strategies and classroom management skills. Our students are able to strengthen those skills by completing over 600 hours of school field experiences.
We are excited to offer our students the option of completing their field experience requirements both nationally and internationally.
