Spring 2013 Commencement Ceremony
The Spring 2013 Commencement is Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex's Millerr Stadium. The procession will begin at 9:40 a.m. and graduates are to assemble at 8:45 a.m. at the Ferguson Soccer Complex, which is just southwest of Miller Stadium..
Information there will show you assigned areas according to the degree received. You should go to these areas and line up alphabetically. The time schedule is as follows:

- 8:45 am Graduates line up in assigned area, by degree, alphabetically and double line.
- 9:40 am On the sound of chapel bells, the marshal will lead the graduates toward Miller Stadium.
- 9:45 am Faculty will march between the double lines of graduates and then, led by the mace bearer and platform party, will proceed to seating on the stadium floor as the band begins to play processional.
In the event of rain, the ceremony for undergraduate students will be held in Myers Convocation Center. Seating will be limited for the inside event and tickets will be required. Each undergraduate student will receive three tickets when he or she picks up the cap and gown from the Bookstore. Overflow seating will be available in the Student Center Eagles’ Nest, the Student Center Auditorium and the Jack and Deb Miller Chapel (see enclosed map for locations), where the ceremony will be shown live at each venue. The event also will be broadcast on the www.ashland.edu website.
In the event of rain, the ceremony for graduate students will be held in Hugo Young Theatre. Seating will be limited for the inside event and tickets will be required. Each graduate student will receive four tickets when he or she picks up the cap and gown from the Bookstore.
If you have any questions regarding the ceremony, please contact the Registrar’s Office at (419) 289-5029. If your plans change and you are unable to attend the ceremony, please notify the Registrar’s Office by April 25.
Once the ceremony has begun, men should follow the President in removing and replacing caps.
Graduation etiquette suggests that graduates remain for the entire ceremony.
If you are given the wrong diploma, please report to the Registrar’s Office following the ceremony.
