Description: IHS of New London at Firelands strives to be the premier skilled nursing center serving the New London and surrounding communities with long term care and rehabilitation needs. Long-term care services, rehabilitation services, in-patient and out-patient physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are available to persons age 17-geriatrics, anyone in need of rehabilitation or long-term services.
One-Time Volunteer Opportunities: Special group programs for large group activities: i.e. skits, musical performances (both vocal and instrumental), crafts
On-Going Volunteer Opportunities: Weekly (or any consistent volunteer effort, such as once a month) to help lead a group activity such as bingo, help by visiting patients, reading to patients, play games with patients one-on-one
Service Learning Opportunities: Caring for elderly
Training/Other Requirements Needed: Have a loving compassionate heart for those who have mental and/or physical challenges due to age and illness, T.B. test
