Description: The Kingwood Center is a privately endowed display garden and cultural center established by Charles Kelley King for the enjoyment, recreation, and intellectual and cultural development of the people of Richland County and other visitors. We provide a meeting place for plant societies and cultural activities. We also have a circulating horticulture library.
One-time Volunteer Opportunities: Plant sales assistants, flower show assistants, seasonal garden assistants, fall bulb sale, holiday evergreen wreath making (November), garland making for July garden party
On-going Volunteer Opportunities: Garden assistant, tour guide, flower arranger, hosts and hostesses, flower show staging assistant, library assistant, clerk
Service Learning Opportunities: Garden work with professional gardeners
Training/Other Requirements: Varies by position, much assistance is needed during spring and summer months
Directions from Ashland University: Take Rt. 42 to Mansfield. Take Rt. 30 West to Trimble Rd. and turn L on Trimble. Go about 1.5 miles and Kingwood Center will be on the left.
