Description: The agency's mission is to disseminate current research-based educational information and serve as a liaison between OSU and the general public. In addition, the agency strives to improve the lives of Ohioans. The educational programs focus upon critical issues and needs. This is done through educational meetings, brochures, publications, radio programs, and newsletters. OSU Extension is the state's largest non-formal educational system.
One-time Volunteer Opportunities: 4-H judging, teaching/coordinating youth programs, county fair work
On-going Volunteer Opportunities: Work on preparing/distributing newsletters, helping with camp/fair in summer, mentoring, motivating, coordinating educational events, staff development, risk management issues, volunteer management, review literature, master gardener, 4-H community
Service Learning Opportunities: Youth development program
Training/Other Requirements Needed: Volunteer certification (all programs)
