ASHLAND
Experiential Education Survey
The Service Learning Coordinator in conjunction with the Service Learning Advisory Committee here at Ashland University is attempting to gather information about the kinds of education utilized by our faculty in an attempt to promote and stream line the service learning process. Thank you for taking the time to answer these few simple questions.

Experiential Education is a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills and clarify values. (e.g. internships, service learning, out of classroom projects, etc.).

Service learning is a form of experiential education that engages the student in a meaningful application of academic knowledge in significant service to the community. It must include orientation or training specific to the service site, meaningful and engaging service, and a structured reflection. Service learning is designed to promote civic responsibility, diversify and expand the student environment, and work to create citizens aware of their global responsibilities.
