The self-service password reset tool resets the following passwords for students, faculty and staff:
- ANGEL
- Ashland University Network password
- Datatel
- Eagleweb
- e-Academy software download
- Gmail/Google Apps
- MyAU Portal
- KBox
- WebAdvisor
NOTE: This tool does NOT reset any of the passwords for the following systems:
- Kronos
- Nursing applications
- The Office of Admissions' Eagles Landing
- Physical Plant work order system
Before you can use this tool to reset your password, you must enroll with the Reset Tool. Below are step-by-step directions on how to enroll.
How to Enroll
To start the process to enroll in the AD Self-Service Password Reset Tool, you will need to have Internet access.
- 1. Navigate to https://pass.it.ashland.edu/ and you will be presented with the below login window.

- 2. Type in your AD username and password.
- 3. Click on the “OK” Button. There will be a box indicating that you are not enrolled for the Password Reset Center.
- 4. Click on the “Enroll for Reset” button.
- 5. Use the drop down menus to select your challenge questions.
- 6. Type in the answer to each your challenge questions
- 7. You must create your own question and answer.
- 8. Click on the “Save” button.
- 9. After clicking on the “Save” button, you will receive a confirmation box that states you are enrolled.
- 10. You will also receive an E-mail confirmation that you are enrolled.

How to change your AD password
To start the process to change your AD Password, you will need to have Internet access.
- 1. Navigate to: https://pass.it.ashland.edu/ and you will be presented with the below login window.

- 2. Type in your AD username and password
- 3. After typing in your password, click on the “OK” Button.
- 4. Click on the “Change Password” button.
- 5. Review the Domain Policy Requirements. These are rules that your new password needs to contain.
- 6. Type your current password into the Current Password field.
- 7. Type your new password into the New password field. Remember about the password rules from above.
- 8. Type your new password into the Confirm New Password field.
- 9. Click on the “Change” button.
- 10. After clicking on the “Change” button.
- 11. You will receive a message that you have changed your password successfully. OR
You will receive an error message that you have entered incorrect information and will need to resubmit your password.
- 12. You will also receive an E-mail confirmation that you have correctly changed your password.

How to reset your password after expiration
You need to be enrolled in the AD Password Rest Tool, first and you will need to have Internet access.
- 1. Navigate to: https://pass.it.ashland.edu/ and you will be presented with the below login window.

- 2. Click on the “Cancel” button.
- 3. Click on the “Recover Your Account” button.
- 4. Read the agreement.
- 5. To proceed, you will need to click on the “I Agree” button.
- 6. Type in your Ashland University username.
- 7. Click on the “Submit” button.
- 8. Type in your answer to your challenge question.
- 9. Click on the “Submit” button.
Note: You will need to follow this step for all of your challenge questions.
- 10. After answering all your challenge questions, enter a new password and confirm your new password.
- 11. Click on the “Change Password” button.
- 12. You will receive confirmation of the change.
