Kappa Omicron Nu: National Honor Society
First, as a part of Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society, students can receive benefits like:
- Access to scholarships and grants
- Participation in a learning community to broaden horizons
- Leadership knowledge, training and skills
- Local and national leadership opportunities
- Presentation and publication opportunities
Students who wish to join the Kappa Omicron Nu National Honor Society must meet minimum requirements through both the national chapter and Ashland University.
Ashland University invites students to join the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society who have a minimum of a 3.4 GPA, have completed two semesters as a Family & Consumer Sciences major, and have completed at least 45 semester hours.
Kappa Omicron Nu emphasizes scholarship, research, and leadership. One of the honor society’s annual goals is to raise funds for Kappa Omicron Nu scholarships.

Family & Consumer Sciences Club
The FCS Club is a student organization that meets regularly for social, service and professional activities.
The FCS Club is an excellent opportunity for students from all FCS majors (Child & Family Studies, Fashion Merchandising, Foods & Nutrition and FCS Education) to spend time together networking, discussing current departmental issues, and participating in club related activities.
There is opportunity for students to display their leadership skills by becoming an FCS Club Officer. Positions include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Historian and Public Relations.
