The United States is in the throes of the deepest recession the country has experienced since the Great Depression during the 1930‟s. One can debate all day long the specific legislative, corporate and/or individual actions that gave rise to the recent worldwide meltdown of the financial system and credit markets. Arguably, however, looking forward, one of the bigger challenges that we face is restoring the confidence of the American people in the people and institutions of our society that did not live up to the expectations and responsibilities that were expected of them.
